Protein Vanilla Smoothie Bowl

I was feeling more of a vanilla protein shake after my workout today, so I decided to try out a recipe I had in my head – lactose & gluten free, of course!

**Health Tip!!!**  I recommend only eating fruits before or after a workout. To explain, your metabolism speeds up when/after you are exercise. Therefore, your body will utilize that fruit sugar only for your workout activity. If you do not workout before or after eating fruit, the sugars will inevitably just sit on your body, not being burned off. Although the sugars are natural from fruit, they still may cause love handle fat, which is the healthiest form of fat, but it is still unwanted on your body, right?**

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2 strawberries, unfrozen
  • 2 chunks of frozen pineapple (optional, but if don’t use, add a couple ice cubes)
  • 2 pitted Medjool dates
  • 1 scoop of vanilla raw protein
  • 1 tsp matcha powder (check out benefits here)
  • 1/4 cup of lactose free milk

On top: slivered almonds, sliced strawberries, and vegan chocolate chips

Stir it up and enjoy!
